The Diver Nicolas
While cruising near the Greek Islands, a diver approached the Nautilus. Captain Nemo seemed to know him. The diver was Nicolas, a local fisherman.
Secret Mission
Captain Nemo loaded a chest of gold ingots into the skiff and sent it off with the diver. Aronnax realized that the captain was aiding the Cretan rebellion against the Ottoman Empire. This revealed another side of Nemo's character.
